Tessa Posthuma de Boer studied photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. After graduating in 1993, she began working as a portrait photographer.
Her portraits have appeared in many different newspapers and magazines, including De Volkskrant, Ajax Magazine, FD, National Geographic, VPRO Gids, Psychologie Magazine, and many others. She has a large number of advertising campaigns to her name (for the Tax Authorities, Rabobank, Fiat, Postbank, Vodafone, PostNL, among others). Tessa also frequently works for the corporate sector; for instance, she has photographed for Akzo Nobel, Staatsbosbeheer, KWF Cancer Foundation, Intertrust, VU Medical Center, Audi, and KPN. She creates many author portraits commissioned by publishing houses, including Van Oorschot, De Bezige Bij, Ambo Anthos, and Nieuw Amsterdam.
Tessa's independent work is regularly exhibited at home and abroad. She is affiliated with the Buitenkunst Foundation as a staff member.
