Tessa Posthuma de Boer studied photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. After graduating in 1993, she began working as a portrait photographer.
Her portraits have appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines, including De Volkskrant, Ajax Magazine, FD, National Geographic, VPRO Gids, Psychologie Magazine, and others. She has also designed numerous advertising campaigns (for clients including the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, Rabobank, Fiat, Postbank, Vodafone, and PostNL). Tessa also frequently works for the corporate sector, having photographed for Akzo Nobel, Staatsbosheer, the Dutch Cancer Society, Intertrust, VU University Medical Center, Audi, and KPN. She creates many portraits of authors commissioned by publishers, including Van Oorschot, de Bezige Bij, Ambo Anthos, and Nieuw Amsterdam.
Tessa's autonomous work is regularly exhibited both nationally and internationally. She is a staff member of the Stichting Buitenkunst (Foundation for Outdoor Art).
