Giclée print on Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl paper (original: cyanotype with toning).
Size 30x20 cm without white border

From the series Amor Fati.

Amor Fati, the love of fate, forms an important source of inspiration in my work. I explore themes such as transience, memory, identity, and our relationship to time and space. Through an intuitive and poetic visual language, I try to give space to questions for which there are no unambiguous answers. By finishing my photographs by hand using traditional techniques such as cyanotype, a layered image emerges in which the creative process remains visible.”

Paulien Dubelaar (1974) is a visual artist who graduated from the Fotoacademie Amsterdam. Her work is characterized by serene, contemplative images in which craftsmanship and photography come together. Drawing on personal experiences and observations, she creates work that invites the viewer to pause and look attentively. In that silence, recognition and beauty can be experienced, and perhaps even a sense of solace in a world that seems increasingly fast-paced and fleeting.
