Amsterdam-based photographer Neeltje de Vries creates photographs with tension and intimacy. One silhouette rises with quiet force; another disappears behind the frame, her absence charged with presence. But these are no mere sensual images. They pulse with friction and emotional weight.
Born in Istanbul in 1976, de Vries moved to the Netherlands as a young child, worked as a graphic designer for 20 years, and returned to photography in her mid-thirties.
Her work is composed with graphic precision and emotional charge. These are self-portraits in disguise—women embodying freedom, not for the viewer but for themselves. Her nudity speaks of liberation, not seduction. The images linger. Quiet, bold, and unmistakably hers.
