In the work of Isolde Woudstra (Harlingen, 1982) everything seems ever so natural but also disconcerting at the same time. She creates images that seem just as possible as unlikely by curating a scene that could have been extracted deep from within the human psyche. Her work carries a symbolic weight, like outer markers of inner chaos. The images cut out all unnecessary noise and leave us with clean, yet very natural and unpolished self-referential freeze frames. Woudstra has been working for clients such as Le Monde, KesselsKramer, Stern, Vice and de Volkskrant and her work was exhibited at Foam, Unseen, Art Wynwood and photomonth Krakow.
