Where the sea ends and the sky begins, the distinction seems almost irrelevant in this image. A veil of mist gently dissolves the beach, water and horizon into one serene composition. A small silhouette breaks the vast emptiness, emphasizing the openness and quietness of the landscape. The image invites the viewer to slow down, to observe in silence, and to experience the sense of space that emerges when all distractions disappear.
 
 Iris Planting (Enschede, 1974) has been one of the established photographers in the Netherlands for over twenty years. Her work has appeared for many years in leading national newspapers and magazines, and she continues to work on a weekly basis for editorial and commercial clients. In her portrait photography, she has captured hundreds of well-known Dutch and international personalities. This extensive experience is also reflected in her autonomous work, where the same attention to light, composition and the decisive moment remains at the heart of her imagery.
 
Since moving to Zandvoort, nature has become an increasingly important source of inspiration. In her autonomous photography, Iris explores the connection between the human form and the landscape. Alongside her serene images of nature, she regularly works with models, exploring the beauty and expression of the human body, where skin, textures and natural elements come together in an intuitive dialogue. The coastline is not merely a backdrop, but a space where atmosphere, movement and emotion meet.
 
Her work is characterized by a refined sensitivity to light, composition and stillness, inviting the viewer to look longer and discover a personal interpretation within the image.
 
Her autonomous work has been exhibited in the Netherlands and abroad.
