From the series: Garden of Henri
“After my divorce, I lived in my garden house on and off for six years. Living there, combined with my fondness for ecological and climate themes, made me increasingly realize what I had missed all those years. No landscape I had to seek out, no journey, just what had always been there. The garden became the starting point of all my work. Image shot on Fuji Superia made with a Minolta 9.”
Henri Blommers (Amsterdam) is a visual artist working at the intersection of ecology and analog photography. For him, beauty is the gateway to heavy themes, not an escape from them. Plants from his own garden form the core of his work. He exhibits and teaches nationally and internationally, won the Denis Roussel Award, and was a finalist at the LensCulture Art Awards and Critical Mass.
