Size 30x20 cm without white border.
Caspar Claasen (born 1975) is fascinated by extraordinary interactions between people, often individuals, and their everyday surroundings. How a seemingly mundane moment can become a short story when photographed—how an unplanned moment becomes so surreal, meaningful, and aesthetic that it seems contrived. But it isn't.
Caspar Claasen is a visual artist (Gerrit Rietveld Academy) from Amsterdam. His work consists of photography, drawings and paintings. Harper's Magazine, Het Parool, ZEIT Magazine, Trouw, De Correspondent, NRC, and others published about his art.
