Asha Swillens (1994) is a Dutch digital artist, image maker, and photographer. Drawing on her background in fashion, she developed her own visual language in which photography and digital collage come together. Her work is strongly inspired by the lighting, shadows, and dark tone-on-tone compositions found in 17th-century painting. By digitally combining real elements into non-existent compositions, Swillens explores the boundary between reality and fiction.
